What is Impulse (displacement)
A sharp move of large candles in one direction. An impulse is what leaves an FVG and shows who is stronger right now.
How it works
BTC 1h: the 08:00 impulse candle and the gap it left.
Example
The 08:00 candle moved 1 518 $ from open to close and left a 1 056 $ gap between the 07:00 high and the 09:00 low.
Common mistake
Chasing the impulse: an entry far from the stop means huge risk or a tiny position.
