A zone should improve risk, not the decision

1. Step 1 · OB

   Order block (OB): the last opposing candle before the impulse.

   BTC 1h, Nov 22, 2025: the 23:00 bearish candle, 84 671–85 178 — the last one before the rally. This is where buyers took over.

2. Step 2 · FVG above the OB

   The impulse left an FVG above the OB.

   The 85 326–85 689 zone sits between the OB and price. A limit order at the FVG's upper edge, 85 689, filled at 07:00.

3. Step 3 · Two stops

   A stop below the OB is tighter, so R is higher.

   There's one target — the high on the left, 88 173. A stop below the OB gave +2.44R, a stop below the range gave +1.18R.

   SOL 1h, the same picture: +1.58R against +0.94R. Both examples come from a selection where the target was hit before the stop below the OB: the zone improved the risk, but the setup made the call.

4. Step 4 · Trap

   A stop that's too tight is also a mistake.

   BTC 15m: a stop right below the FVG, 62 840, got hit 15 min later — the 62 820 low. A stop beyond the sweep survived it, gave +2.4R.

   A stop goes beyond the point where the idea is invalidated: beyond the OB or beyond the sweep. Not wherever the risk looks nicer.
