1. Step 1 · Risk in money

   Money first, chart second.

   A $10 000 deposit, 1% risk. That's $100 — your 1R on any trade.

2. Step 2 · The chart sets the stop

   You put the stop where the idea is invalidated.

   The idea: a reversal after the sweep. If price goes back below the sweep low 62 606, the idea is dead: the stop sits at 62 590.

3. Step 3 · Formula

   Size = risk ÷ stop distance.

   The position came out to $17 016, and leverage of 1.7× followed on its own. You don't choose it.

   $100risk÷$370to the stop=0.27 BTCsize

   Check: 0.2703 BTC × $370 = $100 — exactly 1R.

4. Step 4 · Tight stop

   A tight stop triples the size.

   A 62 840 stop below the FVG: $120. 15 minutes later, price dipped to 62 820.

5. Step 5 · Wider stop

   The wider the stop, the smaller the position.

   BTC 4h, Feb 25, 2024: $958 to the stop. With the same $100, the size is 0.10 BTC.
