What is Limit order

An order to "buy no higher" or "sell no lower" than a set price. The price is guaranteed, the fill is not: the market may not get there.

How it works

ETH 15m, 30.10.2024: the limit at the FVG edge never filled — price ran to the target without a pullback. A missed trade is not a loss.

Example

A buy limit at the upper edge of the FVG, 62 960: price came back to 62 960 and filled it as a maker — a 0.02% fee instead of 0.05%.

Common mistake

Chasing a running price with your limit order — it turns into a market entry without a plan.
