How a prop challenge works

Pass a challenge without a rule break: know your room to every limit before entry.

  1. Step 1 · Phases

    A challenge runs in phases, each with its own target.

    Example account $100 000: phase one targets 8%, phase two 5%, then a funded account.

    These numbers are an example. Every program has its own, so check your agreement with the firm.

  2. Step 2 · Target

    The target is measured from the starting balance.

    A 8% target on $100 000 means $8 000 of net profit. Losing days are subtracted.

  3. Step 3 · Minimum days

    The minimum days rule stops one trade from closing a phase.

    You hit the target in a day, but you need at least 4 trading days. The phase waits for them.

    In the Trading OS engine a day counts as a trading day if it had a trade. Your program may count differently.

  4. Step 4 · Work it out

    How much is left to the phase one target?

    Example account. Four days are closed, and you need the amount left to the target.

  5. Step 5 · Funded

    On a funded account, profit is shared by the split.

    With a 80% split, you get 80% of the profit and the firm keeps 20%.

  6. Step 6 · Work it out

    What gets paid out from the funded account profit?

    Example funded account. The profit is closed and the split is known.
