What is Realized PnL
The result of the part of a position that is closed: it is already on the balance, while whatever is still open is counted separately as unrealized.
How it works
Example
A 2 BTC long from 60,000. You close 1 BTC at 61,000: +$1,000 realized. The remaining 1 BTC with price at 60,500 shows +$500 unrealized.
Common mistake
Adding realized and unrealized into one "day total": the second part can still turn red.
